It was a very busy meeting with new faces, Maid in Carlisle and Sherbet Twist. Welcome to Amanda Ryan of Snowflake Unique and Elizabeth Fashola-Stone of Sherbet Twist, our two new members. Hopefully a further two members will be joining next time so it is really great to see CWE growing! We had lots to talk about and the meeting didn't end until 9.50pm! Thank you to our guest Hazel Duhy of Woodrow Services, who gave some very useful tips on effective networking. Hazel had positive things to say about the feel of CWE, the confidence of its members and interaction within the group.

Congratulations to Claire Willis of Snug Baby who was awarded best online business of the year at the Mumtrepreneurs awards in Birmingham!

Group Event - We also discussed further details about our group showcase. Jennifer of the Cecil Street Project has offered her venue to use for the evening and as the majority of members were present, and time is upon us, we propose Wednesday 25th November 7pm - 9.30pm to be the date of the event. There are several events running up to this and any later may be encroaching on Christmas parties etc. We touched on name ideas for the evening and thought about holding it as a Christmas Street Market. As soon as we confirm the name we can start advertising and promoting the event so I would appreciate everyone’s thought and ideas on this as soon as possible.

There will be a meeting at 6pm on Friday 16th October at Cecil Street Project, to look at the venue and discuss things further. If you are unable to attend please email your thoughts and ideas through to me at saragadd@tiscali.co.uk. Everyone needs to pull together to make the event a success, we have the group potential to make this something really special. It is up to you to decide how’s best to showcase your business’s talents.

The next meeting is November 3rd 7pm – 9pm at Morton Manor, until then get your thinking caps on!
